
The mission of the Pharos Institute is to serve as a center of knowledge and culture for both current and future generations of Stari Grad, Hvar, Dalmatia, and beyond.
In 2023, the founders set out to actualize the vision that would develop the Institute as a hub that promote, and inspire through knowledge and cultural heritage, providing a space for reflection and addressing social, cultural, economic, environmental, and other challenges related to the island of Hvar, as well as the broader Dalmatian and Mediterranean region.
The main approaches are based on interdisciplinary programming that includes:
• Inclusivity: Involving components that encompass the past, present, and future.
• Interdisciplinarity: Encompassing multiple scientific and/or thematic areas.
• Innovation: Including contemporary technological approaches.
• Global Thinking, Local Solutions: Building partnerships between local, regional, and international academic, social, and economic actors.
INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY BOARD:
The international advisory board is being designed to provide strategic expertise in department areas and institutional development as well as support in networking and fundraising.
